"Biopuncture" involves the use of very small needles to inject safe and gentle FDA-regulated biotherapeutic substances to stimulate natural healing.
For injuries or orthopedic problems the injections are given directly into trigger points or over injured or painful muscles or joints. For non-orthopedic problems the injections are made directly into acupuncture points or over specific organs. The types of substances most commonly used are homeopathic remedies derived from botanicals and minerals. The physician will determine which particular combination is appropriate and where the injections should be done. For example, traumeel may be used for inflammations and sports injuries, spacuspreel for muscular cramps, lymphomyosot for lymphatic drainage, or nux vomica for digestive problems.
These injections are much less painful than those typically given in conventional medicine because only very short fine needles are used and the quantity injected is very small. Several injections are given in more than one spot during each session. Most are given superficially, into or just under the skin more like pinpricks than injections. Others may be given into specific muscle points.
The fact that small doses of natural substances are used means that you have to be patient. The purpose of Biopuncture using homeopathics is to trigger the body to step in and heal itself. As such, you should not expect the immediate effect that you would get from pharmaceuticals. However, the safety profile of the substances used in Biopuncture is far better than typical pharmaceuticals like cortisone or painkillers. The procedure is relatively quick, taking ½ hour or less, and several sessions are usually required. Biopuncture is even more effective when used in conjunction with other modalities such IV therapy, lymphatic stimulation with the ST8, or hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
